I notice that a new feature is in the pipeline:
3.6.3 Forthcoming
[NEW] User documents specific to airfields are now supported where filenames start with the ICAO identifier then an underscore

Great addition. Thanks !

I am pleased to say the Belgian AIP has been fully republished and now we have documents for each individual airfield, including a georeferenced chart for EBSP.

Yes, I think they responded saying they're going to overhaul the Belgian AIP some point soon (possibly the new year) so things will change.

Tim,

Any news on your ticket towards Eurocontrol to enquire why the PAMS-hosted Belgian AIP groups all the AD information into one or two documents ?

Thanks in advance.

Jf

I have created a ticket with Eurocontrol to enquire why the PAMS-hosted Belgian AIP groups all the AD information into one or two documents (which obviously is undesirable) compared to the Belgocontrol website itself, which seems to make individual PDFs available. When I get an answer I will relay it here. If the Belgians are unwilling to publish documents into the Eurocontrol system on a per-airfield basis, though, then we cannot display them like that in SkyDemon.

Hello,
This is one reason why I think the feature of linking user document to a specific aerodrome via the IACO code as beginning of the filename might be useful. This would allow for example to download from the BE AIP the plates for EBSP or to link plates/information/documents obtained from other sources (ex. paradrop info for SPA: http://www.spa-aviation.be/index.php/fr/par-les-airs- // ex. the aerodrome websites are sometimes providing Jeppesen charts: http://www.aeroclub-brugge.be/info.php).

:-)

Tim,

I see the EBSP in the official Belgium AIP http://www.belgocontrol.be/website/eaip/eAIP_Main/html/index-en-GB.html
Including a PDF with approach info.

Regards,
Tom

We would consider the mechanism of displaying user plates for a specific aerodrome if lots of people were interested in it.

EBSP has no individual documents specific to it, at least not that are published into the Eurocontrol PAMS database. Where are you seeing them? If you're referring to the couple of pages within "AD 2 PVR PRIVATE AERODROMES" then unfortunately as Belgium is not publishing the document specifically for EBSP, we cannot relate it to EBSP in SkyDemon (because it relates to lots of different aerodromes).

This triggers another question. I downloaded the Belgium AIP but when I planned my upcoming flight to Spa EBSP there are no documents or plates shown. When I look into the Belgium AIP (Belgocontrol.be) I do see the docs and the circuit plates. So I uploaded the plates to SD and they are now I'm my users docs, however they are not shown during flight. Why are only a few airfields in Belgium documented and isn't for all airfields the info from the AIP downloaded (regardless if they can be georefferenced or not).

Regards,
Tom

Hello,

I am currently using another navigation software which has an interesting feature which I believe might be worth implementing in SkyDemon:
the possibility to add personal document and to link the to an aerodrome.

In my present software I can upload documents starting with the ICAO code of an airport (ex. EBGB_aeroclub.pdf) when clicking on the EBGB airport I see all the documents with the starting ICAO code of the airport I clicked on.

This might be useful as it allows to easily access documents linked to an airport without having to scroll through the complete document list.

Comments and remarks are welcome.

Jf
